Good Weekend

Ok so mad props to Meghan, Coleena, John and everyone else for the kick butt party on Saturday Night, I don't even know how they did it so fast and I was there! Super Awsome fun times indeed. I don't know if I can get into details but basically someone is going out west and we threw a huge party! Printing this weekend, well more like preping for a bunch of work. Well today was BBQ day at the Print Studio, so in case you missed it too bad suckers!!! Come by Tuesday might have a suprise or two??? Dyan working on some stencils, Matt on some Lithos and Me again on the woodblocks. I can't really talk. Whirlwind of activity, will be checking out Hamilton Artist Thea Haines who has a studio at Harbour Front. Hopefully a little report this week on Christine Sealey's recent work as well. Ah well till next time.

Art Hop, Bag of Ice and Guest Appearance by Alan Flint

So gallery hop on Friday night was totally upstaged by Gary Buttrum, his video installation at Loose Cannon Stole the FREAKING Show! Super good, I only wish he did more of this!!! Tons of people stood outside and watched it for a long time. So happy.... the weekend was oppressively hot in Hamilton, saturday was a complete wrtie off in terms of usefulness, sloth was full in effect. Sunday, looked bad but was rescued by a bag of ice and a plastic tupper ware thing....

freezies, pops and water made the Printstudio the  productive spot today and oh yeah the 2nd hand stereo that is there is making life amazing!!!! we plan to expand the speakers! Matt and Dyan worked on a Lister Block show for Skydragon's Rock the Block a show about the Lister Block and issues around that mess. the show is July 21/06 and yup a friday but please go!

Me i am still working on a reduction print but after a guest appearance by Alan Flint, who gave Dyan and Matt and Me some knowledge about ink, setup and made sure the exposure unit still works, told me to stop my print and go on to other things.... so good! so now i started some rough ideas for some other print project. oh yeah one other guest appearance by Colleena and her kid, who got into a ice fight with Dyan, ate a freezie and generally had a cool time, Me, Dyan and Matt think Coleena and Katherine should be put a list for the Pope to push forward their Sainthood for all their good works and Miracles well at least for James St North and Hamilton Art in General.

See you next art crawl, print studio visit or just hanging out in Hamilton.

Summer Continued

So its funny how when summer hits your brain turns into mush, any excuse not to work or do anything productive has hit my brian, I have basically just riding my bike. Yes I know a noble pursuit but really not good for someone trying to make art. Go check out Azure magazine it has Hamilton Artist Jamie Owen in it, also the new Hamilton Magazine has a article all about the Print Studio. Ok I have to start getting ready for my 9-5 job or in my case 3-11pm job.  Have a great summer
